Each year, approximately 1200 people gather in NYC to celebrate the LGBT community and its books alongside scores of readers, speakers and more than 70 vendors at the New York Rainbow Book Fair.
Rainbow Book Fair
Now in its ninth year, the Rainbow Book Fair will take place on Saturday, April 29 from 12 noon to 6 PM at John Jay College’s New Building, 524 W. 59th Street, just west of 10th Avenue. The RBF is free, but a small donation is requested at the door. No one is refused entry.
This year, the event is expanding into 2 large, adjacent spaces: Hound’s Square — a student activity area easily reachable by stairs or escalators — and the student cafeteria, where the event took place last year.
There will also be “break out” rooms for panels and readings, access to a lovely outdoor garden area, the all-day “Come Hear!” Poetry Salon, and additional areas to mix and mingle at this event, which has been billed as “the largest LGBT book event in the US.”
