“America’s Next Drag Superstar” crowned

***SPOILER ALERT***

Last night, top four finalists of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Gottmik, Kandy Muse, Rosé and Symone, went head-to-head in the gag-worthy Season 13 finale.  Symone came out on top, earning the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a cash prize of $100,000. In a season where queens had to prepare and film during a global pandemic, Symone snatched the win, crowned graciously by season 12 winner, Jaida Essence Hall.

Season 12’s Miss Congeniality, Heidi N Closet, passed down the title and a special prize of $10,000 to LaLa Ri. This year’s Miss Congeniality was sponsored by Olay Body who awarded each of the eligible queens with a prize of $2,000 in addition to the $10,000 prize for the new reigning Miss Congeniality.

The historic season 13 brought together queens from all over the US to safely film during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the very first television productions to be shot under the strict health guidelines. In tonight’s finale, the “Drag Race” family came together to celebrate the resilience and strength of this season’s cast and crew, as well as celebrate Symone on her win.

“Symone is a true drag superstar,” said five-time Emmy® Award-winning Host and Executive Producer, RuPaul.  “Her fresh and inspirational approach to drag can be summed up in four simple words, Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve & Talent.”
