Life is an intricate balancing act. This is the mantra that Megan holds near and dear these days as she juggles careers working as a freelance writer and yoga instructor. Originally hailing from the Bluegrass State, Megan ditched the farm in 2009 with sights set on rigid, concrete pastures. Nearly a decade later, she has a just about every girl scout badge a life in the city can offer – abandoned acting career, refusal of service from many a bottomless brunch-offering establishment and a permanently locked OKCupid account. When she’s not keeping you abreast of the city’s best events and store openings in Metrosource’s NYScope and Hot Shops sections, she’s traveling to music festivals and writing about groundbreaking artists for Brooklyn-centric food and culture blog FREEwilliamsburg and internationally renowned EDM publication, DJ Mag USA. She also puts the hot in hot yoga at Surya Yoga Academy in Jersey City at 6 AM and 9:30 AM on Mondays. Come to class, it’s never too late to start sweating!

Joel Kim Booster has done just about everything in Hollywood. Producing, writing, acting, podcasting, hosting, and stand-up, he’s mastered them all. His most ambitious project, Hulu’s Fire Island, which he wrote, produced, and starred in, was welcomed with both critical and audience praise. This spring, he reprises his role as Nicholas, alongside Maya Rudolph, for season 2 of AppleTV’s hit series, Loot.
His work in the entertainment industry has focused the spotlight on his identity as a gay, Asian actor, progressing the talk of Hollywood’s need for diversity even further.
In this intimate chat, we cover his early family life, discovering his culture at a later age, having to move out and make it on his own after coming out, getting into Hollywood via comedy, the evolution of Asian and LGBTQ representation in the media, censorship of comedians, supporting other LGBTQ community members, the new season of Loot, and so much more.
