I earned my MSW from New York University and went on to complete six years of postgraduate training at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center in Manhattan.

I have been active in the mental health field since 2005, having worked at CSEDNY, an intensive outpatient chemical addiction program, Saint Mark's Place Institute for Mental Health, a community based outpatient mental health clinic and at the Gay and Lesbian Affirmative Psychotherapy division of the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy.

My experience has encompassed working with children, adolescents and adults, individuals dealing with substance abuse and addiction issues, early trauma, PTSD, issues of sexual and gender identity and HIV and AIDS.

In addition, my previous career was in the fitness industry, which has allowed for a unique understanding of the mind/body connection as well as issues related to body dysmorphia, compulsive exercising and eating related disorders. Actually, it was my experience as a trainer that led me to social work as I invariably found that success with clients came from working from the 'inside out'; that many of the obstacles we encounter in the physical world can be linked to negative self beliefs and reflexive ways of being that limit our strength and agency, both in body and spirit.

Identifying these patterns can be an important part of the therapeutic process and a stepping stone towards more control and fulfillment in all aspects of your life.
