Antiqua was created by Iris Yona in 1996. Born, raised and educated in Israel, the silversmith designer grew and evolved to work with wires and the many forms of semi precious stones, their properties and hues. Iris loves to marry antique findings, pendants, Victorian buttons and chains creating a fusion of vintage and modern style with a classic balance in her one of a kind pieces. Iris works one on one with clients to create individual pieces that have their own flare and uniqueness. At Antiqua we pride ourselves in unique handcrafted jewelry as well as quality gifts. We love to achieve the perfect balance of elegance and individualism. In the store you will find other lines of jewelry including several local designers along with her own. “In each item I carry, whether it’s my own creation or by other artists, the goal is to implement my design and art background into the details and great craftsmanship within all the items I display in my store.” Iris currently resides with her husband and two children in sunny Southern California.

The Band of Infinity was inspired by the March on Washington in 1993. At that time, there was considerable discussion about the number of attendees and whether or not there really was/is a significant population of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders. Despite an extensive platform of demands, heated debates still argue against our rights to be treated equally under the same laws as any American citizen. Whether it was 200,000 or 650,000 in 1993, the number pales in comparison to the vast amount of people coming forth to declare our rights. Again, in 2000, the Millennium Match confirmed that the ‘official’ count varied dramatically from that of the media and the organizers. To give a visibility to our sheer numbers, the idea to make rings, each with a sequential number proudly stamped on the outside, became the Band of Infinity. Every ring bears the Infinity symbol opposite the numbers. Each number represents one, unique person willing to state that they are a member of the community or a supporter of the rights of the community.

Since 1995, the Band of Infinity has been uniting individuals around the globe, couples, friends, family, co-workers and is a statement of love, support and belonging. The Band of Infinity comes in Sterling silver, 14kt and 18kt gold and platinum. They are offered in a variety of styles including diamond accent and necklace versions. As each ring is hand stamped, the slight irregularities of each sequence of numbers adds to each ring’s uniqueness. After all, even though we stand together, each of us is unique. The Band of Infinity™ statement is a simple, yet powerful statement. It says “I love you, I support you. We stand united”. Each ring is hand stamped with a unique, sequential number. It is ideal for lovers, best friends and extended families. A single ring unites with every other Band of Infinity™ and is never alone.
