Aliens Coming: Invading Earth to Steal Your Junk
August 17 – September 18$10.00
Back by popular demand, Aliens Coming brings to life the journey of two best friends as they encounter the expected pressures of graduating high school and the not-nearly-so-expected pressures of alien abduction and genital harvesting.
Packed with outrageous moments, foot-stomping jokes and show-stopping numbers, the show made its debut at the People’s Improv Theatre last March. The plot chronicles the friendship of high school seniors Brandi Boudoir and Clementine Tweedy as they encounter the dividing forces of graduation and maturation and further put to the test by Brandi’s abduction by the nefarious Zooby Doober, a Flimp from the planet of Flimpton, and Clementine’s tryst with Zooby’s hapless assistant, Smib. Pitted against the Flimps and their plot to harvest the genitals of the entire human race, Clementine and Brandi battle to save both the planet and their friendship from certain destruction.
It’s a 90-minute comedic musical that welds together contemporary music, classic show tunes & campy humor into a seamlessly rollicking whole. The musical returns for a limited engagement to the People’s Improv Theater for an additional 10 shows in August and September after a previously sold-out run. Joe Kelly is responsible for the show’s book, and the music director is Jonathan Evans (the pair met at NYU), and the show is directed by Griffin Osborne. Beware: the show features themes of teen sexuality, much adolescent angst and more than a little smidge of body snatching.
