This is a wonderful opportunity to break the conventional boundaries of Argentine Tango dance, and present alternative forms of choreographic expressions outside of its hyper-heteronormative form.
Open to ALL – regardless of age, ethnicity, gender and sexual identity – including and especially those with no experience in Tango.
Week 1 to 4 – Basic sequences and combinations of tango
Week 5 to 12 – Choreography
Friday Sept 28th – Culminating Public Performance at New York Queer Tango Weekend Festival
We highly encourage everyone to attend all sessions regardless of experience, however, you are not required to attend the entire series in order to participate. We do require an advance notice if you know that you will be missing more than 3 classes.
RSVP is required at [email protected]
Breaking Boundaries With Queer Tango is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Learning, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. LMCC.net
