Event Navigation

A highlight of this summer’s Dixon Place 2018 HOT! Festival is sure to be a special 40-minute solo performance by Tadeusz von Moltke of his poetic novella/performance piece The Hollywood Adriana, A Cautionary Tale of Damaged Good. Tadeusz von Moltke (NBC’s The Blacklist; DJ Khaled/Jay Z video I Got The Keys; THEA [email protected] Concert; Samsung/punchdrunk Virtual Reality Project) created a sensation in January with a 20-minute preview of The Hollywood Adriana when he opened the Dixon Place Queer Text reading series- selected by Metrosource as One of The Top LGBT Events of The Week.

The breakneck pace of The Hollywood Adriana is driven by the collision of prose, screenplay, poetry, opera libretto, and songs by October Project in this tragi-comic modern-day love child of reader’s theatre and Medieval Morality play inspired by the death of silent movie icon Ramon Novarro. Rupert’s increasingly bizarre erotic encounters telescope time and place into a hallucinogenic continuum of NOW. The worlds of film, opera, and ballet, Sarah Bernhardt, Maya Plisetskaya, Hector Berlioz, hustlers, drag queens, athletes, and altar boys, all converge I a surreal universe of obsession, thwarted love, innocence lost, murder, suicide, and catharsis.
