"Call Me By Your Name?" China says no, they won't.
April 12 in Los Angeles the GLAAD Media Awards will recognize winners among the 141 nominees in more than two dozen categories.
The awards are intended to single out those who have advanced an agenda of fair and accurate treatment of the LGBTQ community in the media — and often succeeded in creating a more inclusive and welcoming treatment for gays, lesbians and the entire rainbow coalition for the future.
New categories recognize strides in including the LGBTQ community on television shows aimed at kids and families. Of course there’s still a groundswell of enthusiasm for Call Me by Your Name because of the quality of the film and its nonchalance in dealing with the gay romance at its nucleus.
