About Doctor Galán
Dr. Antonio Galán holds a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University, a professional degree in Physical Therapy from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a Master’s in Business Administration from Cornell University. He has over 20 years of professional experience in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. He completed a graduate certificate in Health Care Corporate Compliance from George Washington University and is now certified in healthcare compliance.
Antonio trained at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD and Fort Belvoir Military Hospital in Alexandria, VA. He began his career at various outpatient orthopedic clinics in Washington, D.C. where he spent six years acquiring and refining his Orthopedic and manual skills while learning from seasoned Physical Therapists. Antonio has spent his entire professional career specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. Antonio utilizes a combined biomechanical/muscle imbalance approach to evaluate the patient’s musculoskeletal system and movement patterns. He employs an array of exercises, including Clinical Pilates, and manual techniques to assist patients to restore muscle balance and joint symmetry, thereby decreasing pain and restoring function. A former collegiate athlete, Antonio exercises regularly and has an intricate knowledge of the mechanics of rehabilitation exercises, functional activities and sport specific activities. He has treated many patients with ligament reconstruction, muscle strains, ligament strains, knee replacement, hip replacement, shoulder replacement, lumbar spine surgery for herniated discs or spinal stenosis, long bone fractures, and many other orthopedic diagnoses and surgical procedures.Antonio maintains a current Evidence Based Practice knowledge base and skills through ongoing professional continuing education and professional symposia.
