The married writing-directing team of Sean Mewshaw and Desiree Van Til offers a warm but not-too-sappy love story.

The film’s quite charming leads ably sell the story of a young widow living in rural Maine who meets a professor (played by charming SNL alum Jason Sudeikis, pictured) trying to write about her late husband, a celebrated musician. In classic romantic-comedy form, the pair seem to hate each other at first, but over time their small-town and big-city vibes begin to harmonize. THE WORD: This pleasing film also features the talents of the iconic Blythe Danner, the towering Joe Manganiello and Glee’s Dianna Agron — not to mention moody but beautiful songs by Damien Jurado and several poignant but not overly heavy thoughts on the nature of life and death.
