Robyn and La Bagatelle Magique Cancel Appearance

Written by | Entertainment, Music

Earlier this year Robyn and La Bagatelle Magique announced one U.S. appearance in support of their recently released mini-album Love Is Free; they have since canceled it due to tragic circumstances.

They have canceled appearances in Brazil and San Francisco, including the Treasure Island Music Festival, following the death of La Bagatelle Magique member Christian Falk due to cancer. Robyn and third band member Markus Jägerstedt finalized the music that they had worked on together without Falk in order to release it as planned.

After performing in Sweden, Robyn realized she would not be able to perform the material again soon. She released this statement to fans and ticket-holders:

“It was much harder singing these songs on stage than I thought. Even though it’s been a year since Christian passed, I’m heartbroken and performing them feels too heavy still. I’m sorry to disappoint the fans that have bought tickets to these shows, and I will do my best to come back to San Francisco and Brazil soon.”

Her publicist says that she and Jägerstedt are working on a video in support of Love Is Free, but that “she requires a clean break from performing to focus on the future so she can return with new music.”
