The Telephone – a Comic Opera in One Act

LGBTQ composer, and New Yorker, Gian Carlo Menotti (1911–2007) was the life-long partner of composer Samuel Barber at a time when same-sex relationship were still taboo.
Menotti’s one-act comic opera, The Telephone, is here presented by Vocal Productions NYC, with a stable of up-and-coming young opera stars, alongside music by Barber and the German decadent composer Kurt Weill.
