I provide psychodynamic psychotherapy and counseling to individuals and couples near Union Square in Manhattan.
With an emphasis on acknowledging intersecting and multiple aspects of identity, I am here to help you to explore and address concerns related to:
Depression and Sadness
Anxieties and Fears
Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence
Sexuality and Sexual Health
Grief and Loss
Major Life Changes
Relationships and Communication
My approach to treatment is strongly informed by my training and experience in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Because I value an eclectic and integrative method, I believe an individualized approach to psychotherapy is necessary to address the multiple ways in which we live in the world and experience our lives.
We all struggle to integrate intersecting, multiple, and sometimes seemingly contradictory aspects of our identities. Some examples of these include sexuality and sexual expression, gender identity and gender expression, queer identity, race and ethnicity, privilege, class, faith, and family. Part of what makes us human is the ongoing challenge of reconciling powerful societal influences and expectations with our internal psychic experiences and self-images.
My role is to help you find the balance and the solutions that make sense for your lived experience, in an open, nonjudgmental, and curious space. And though change is often what people are seeking when they enter therapy, acceptance is often an unexpected but welcomed discovery along the way.
