WATCH: Obama to Ellen: "I’m So Proud of You"

Ellen DeGeneres isn’t often speechless. But then Barack Obama isn’t often her guest.

The president appeared on Ellen’s show today while in California to appear at Democratic fundraisers. She thanked Obama for what he’s done for the gay community during his two terms. Obama then said that while he’s changed laws, Ellen has changed hearts and minds. Understandably, she was visibly moved.

She pulls it together with a joke—a good one, too!—but in two minutes, you do get a sense of where we were in 2008 versus where we are now.
