To celebrate Valentine’s on February 12 and 14, the 300-plus-member group will make the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church shake with their “Love Rocks” concert — showcasing selections from Freddie Mercury, Melissa Etheridge, Adele, U2 and The Beatles. gmcw.org

On Stage

Boasting memorable tunes like “Thank Heaven for Little Girls” and “The Night They Invented Champagne,” Gigi was one of the most beloved musical films of the mid-20th century. It’s been reconceieved for the stage in a world-premiere production that follows its titular free-spirited young lady and a wealthy playboy in turn-of-the-century Paris. Night Out

Often referred to as simply Cobalt, D.C.’s premier gay bar and nightspot actually incorporates a restaurant (Level One), a lounge (30degrees) and a recently renovated dance-floor level (Cobalt). Offering an eclectic lineup of DJs, parties and shows, there are plenty of reasons to hit this nightspot to get your blood pumping and the cocktails flowing. Late Bite

Chances are — after a night of fun on the town — you’ll be in the mood for a nosh or a nightcap. Hood Hopping

It’s worth noting that Dupont Circle is not D.C.’s only prominent gayborhood. The areas around Logan Circle and U Street are also great places to meet gay people and find gay-owned-and-operated bars, restaurants and other businesses.

Mall Walking

The National Mall may be bustling by day, but stop by for a late-night stroll to see a different side of it. It’s a unique time to enjoy views of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capitol dome — all beautifully lit in the evening and surprisingly hushed once the tourists have retreated for the day.
