Things to Do

New York Comedy Festival

November 8th – 17th

Various Venues

Election Day is November 5th, and God knows we’ll all need to blow off some steam after that nail biter. Thankfully, there’s a huge lineup of laughs in store at the 20th anniversary installment of the New York Comedy Festival. For two decades, this offering has brought the world’s best comedians to the Big Apple, and this time they’re on board for a hilarious 10-day stretch. From November 8th until 17th, the tradition continues with more than 100 shows and over 200 comics appearing across hallowed stages such as BAM, Beacon Theatre, David Geffen Hall and the Apollo. The political crowd — names like Jon Stewart, Hassan Minahj and Bill Mahr — should have plenty to say at this post-poll engagement, but if that’s not your style there’s other silliness to survey, such as Adam Ray doing his best pseudo-doc talk show host impersonation in Dr. Phil Live at the Beacon Theatre, or Gabriel Iglesias bringing his newest stand-up special Don’t Worry Be Fluffy Tour to Brooklyn’s historic King’s Theatre. Those are just a couple of options to get you giggling. nycomedyfestival.com
