No Mickey Mouse: In Anaheim, Visit the ARTIC

Disneyland and California Adventures were once my most typical haunts when shooting in Anaheim, California. But recently, the ARTIC _ or the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center – has been added to the growing list of of favorite spots among photographers and tourists alike.

Photographers and architecture devotees are lavishing attention on the ARTIC as Anaheim’s new can’t-miss destination. The project, which was built at a total cost of over $185 million dollars, was awarded 2015 Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association, and justifiably so: It is one beautiful piece of architecture.

If you’re ever in Orange County, many consider this place to be well worth a visit. Parking is free (which is not all that common in California), and there is a terrific little coffee shop in the lobby perfect for people watching. Many locals are very proud of this piece of architecture and consider it a point of pride as their latest local landmark. Check it out!
