Mike Judge is back! The creator of the cult classic Office Space has been noticeably absent from the pop culture landscape since 2009’s Extract.
But now he is making up for lost time with his comedy series Silicon Valley. It’s a David-and-Goliath story in which a motley crew of techies race to develop a billion dollar idea before a massive Google-esque corporation can beat them to it. In addition to Judge’s keen eye for the absurd, this series is made great by a cast composed of some of the funniest young actor/comedians around.
THE WORD: Sadly, Christopher Evan Welch, who played the show’s oddball angel investor, died of lung cancer halfway through the first season, but I expect that somewhere he is proud of his part in this marvelous series.
