WATCH: David Bowie's New Video for "Lazarus"

Written by | Entertainment, Music

The bad news: David Bowie spends most of his new video in the hospital, and it doesn’t look good for him. The good news: The title of his new sax-driven song, “Lazarus,” refers to the biblical man who is risen from the dead.

“Lazarus” was released at the end of 2015 and is off Bowie’s upcoming album Blackstar, which is out January 8 and available now for pre-order.

The song also appears in the Bowie-scored musical also called Lazarus, playing at New York Theatre Workshop through January 20. Co-written by Enda Walsh and directed by Ivo Von Hove, the show based on Walter Travis’s novel and familiar Bowie material The Man Who Fell to Earth. It’s been a predictably hot ticket.
