World Of Wonder Steps Out of RuPaul’s Shadow with Service

Emmy award-winning production company World of Wonder, the braintrust behind RuPaul’s Drag Race, Out of Iraq and Million Dollar Listing, is rolling out a new streaming service.

World of Wonder — who also took New York City by storm two months ago with their first Manhattan-based DragCon (and are also the creators of HBO’s Mapplethorpe), have announced a new venture: WOW Presents Plus, a new subscription streaming service offering a variety of pop culture, drag and LGBT programming.

The ad-free service is now available at wow-presents.com and on iOS, Apple TV, Roku, and Android for $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year.

The premium streaming service curates programming from the company’s substantial library of films, TV shows and live events, as well as new original series exclusive to WOW Presents Plus. The lineup, which features fresh weekly shows from established and emerging talent, assorted documentaries and specials intends to expand on World of Wonder’s decades-long foray into providing a unique perspective on culture, particularly that of the LGBT community.

“As the marginal moves into the mainstream,” say the co-founders, “the time has come for us to curate a platform for our audience with content fans will devour, featuring stars that deserve to be on television round-the-clock.”

WOW Presents Plus programming highlights include such original series as Bobbin’ Around with Bob the Drag Queen, Marco Marco’s models, — a show about just that, featuring drag queens, trans men & women, and gender nonconforming individuals with bodies of all shapes and sizes, and AB Soto, a gender-fluid Latin dancer and producer whose show is part entertainment and part instructional video in teaching you how to up your dancefloor game.

In addition, there’s Cool Mom with RuPaul season five winner Jinkx Monsoon, who’s on a mission to spend more quality time with her 29 year old gay son. They’ll knock heads over a wide range of topics ranging from hooking up to internet slang and smoking marijuana.
Documentaries are also on board, including the Sundance Film Festival favorite, Becoming Chaz, which follows Chaz Bono’s transition female to male, and Out of Iraq, an Emmy award-winning story of two Iraqi men who meet in the middle of war-torn Ramadi in 2004 and must flee or face an honor killing when they fall in love.

WOW Presents Plus includes a free trial subscription for 30 days after signup. To learn more, visit wow-presents.com.
