It took one day of unseasonable warmth to but our heads in summer. Fortunately, NYC Pride is right there with us.
Sunday, June 26, 2016 will be the 30th anniversary of the NYC Pride tradition, and as the Dance’s tenure grows longer, so does the Dance itself: This year’s doors will open earlier and go on to 10pm with its famous fireworks display. Tickets are now on sale.
And here’s your international DJ lineup for those trippy hours between doors to fireworks: Alain Jackinsky of Montreal, Hoston Whores of London, Honey Soundsystem of San Francisco, and Ben Baker of New York.
Dance on the Pier is, and has been since 1986, NYC Pride’s largest fundraiser, with ticket sales helping to pick up the costs of the rest of Pride Week events such as the March, the Rally, and PrideFest. And of course, each year’s Dance ends with some fabulous, loosely-kept-secret surprise artist (last year’s was Ariana Grande), and a rep from NYC Pride told us 2016 will be no different. That performer is still TBA, which means now is about the time to start speculating. So let’s get some rumors started. Rihanna? Cher (again)? Kathleen Battle?
Tickets are on sale now at nycpride.showclix.com, with prices starting at $60. For more info on NYC Pride events and further announcements, visit nycpride.org.
