Bravo, Jackie!

Re-published from Paul Hagen‘s profile of Jackie Warner from our October/November issue in 2009. Warner’s new book is called This Is Why You’re Sick and Tired: (And How to Look and Feel Amazing) and is out April 28.

While sitting with Jackie Warner, I couldn’t help but think of the infamous questions of another famous face featured on Bravo: James Lipton of Inside the Actor’s Studio fame. So I posed to her the 10 questions he famously asks before wrapping up of each of interviews with a great performer:

What is your favorite word?
My favorite word is yes. If you say ‘yes’ to me, everything is good.

What is your least favorite word?
I don’t like hearing ‘no’ from anybody.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Confidence.

What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Victims.

What sound or noise do you love?
I love the sound that my dog makes snoring.

What sound or noise do you hate?
I hate sirens.

What is your favorite curse word?
“Fuck.”

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I’ve been fantasizing about a simpler life. I would love to own a tea garden restaurant, where we’d serve teas and tonic, and organic coffees. See, this is where the lesbian really shouts out. It screams across the room and smacks you in the face.

What profession would you not like to do?
Be a whore. That’s gotta be the worst profession ever. And I think they hate it too.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Good job.”
