What happens when an interactive artist confronts a charged political climate meet during Pride month? A fashion statement.
Motivated by his concern for the LGBTQ community, Tyler Wallach of Tyler Wallach Studio is presenting a collection in which philanthropy meets inspiration. His “Dripping with Pride” collection will be available exclusively on TylerWallachStudio.com. Select proceeds from the collection will go to support invaluable LGBTQ community charities such as the Trevor Project, the Ali Forney Center and the Queens Center for Gay Seniors.
What has brought the young Harlem dweller (and Texas native) to this prideful endeavor? In many ways, it stems from his creative process. From early on, Wallach adopted a unique form of interactive art. He paints live, in-person at events throughout the country. The act engages conversation about the relationship between visual artists and their audience.
Naturally, a month filled with Pride (not to mention WorldPride in NYC) presents a perfect moment for Wallach to express himself in the hopes of creating something that will stylishly uplif the LGBTQ community. “For me, it’s a literal way I can wear my heart on my sleeve,” says Wallace. “The dripping rainbow is an extension of the love that pours over all of us, event when we don’t feel it.” The collection includes shirts, bags, leggings and more.
Find LGBTQ-Friendly ResourcesIn addition to these fashions, Wallach and his studio painted a custom mural for Brooklyn Brewery to celebrate their new Stonewall Inn IPA, in conjunction with World Pride 2019. He also designed the official 2019 World Pride shirt for Brooklyn Brewery and will be marching with Brooklyn Brewery in the official NYC Pride March.
