The revival of the live-tv musical began with NBC’s The Sound of Music Live! (18.6 million viewers!); then their Peter Pan Live! inspired 475,000 tweets during its broadcast.
Then came The Wiz Live! in December, and now on January 31 at 7pm Eastern, Fox joins the fun with Grease: Live. They’ve loaded the cast with great choices: Julianne Hough (of Dancing with the Stars) and Aaron Tveit (from Broadway’s Next to Normal) are Sandy and Danny, who will be supported by a cast of pop stars like Carly Rae Jepsen (as ditzy Frenchy), Vanessa Hudgens (playing rough Rizzo) and Jessie J (pictured) singing the Bee Gees’ title song. Mario Lopez, Ana Gasteyer and Martin Short round out the cast. fox.com/grease-live
