'Idol' Waves Goodbye

Fifteen years, fifteen Idols and a troupe of judges later, “American Idol” makes its final decision tonight and fades into television history.

Ryan Seacrest, who began the show as a co-host with Brian Dunkleman (does anyone remember him?) fifteen seasons ago, will say “Seacrest out” one last time tonight as America picks between La’Porsha Renae, a single mother with Aretha-sized pipes, and country crooner Trent Harmon, who began the season with such a bad case of mononucleosis that he had to perform solo during group week.

Tonight’s show on Fox is expected to pull out all the stops, with judges Harry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban welcoming back the show’s brightest stars, including Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Fantasia.
