Pope Francis: Live and Let Live

While not changing any official church doctrines, Pope Francis urged priests to show more compassion and less judgment to those living in what he called “irregular situations.”

The Holy See did not endorse gay marriage, but he did make a plea for greater tolerance of Catholics who divorce.

The announcement came in the form of an Apostolic Exhortation titled ‘The Joy of Love,’ which indicates both the tone and path the Holy Father will take during the course of his papacy.
