I was on a road trip with my family across Italy when we booked Park Palace just outside Florence, Italy. Upon entry to the lobby, we were collectively awed by the grandness of the villa. It was truly a jaw-dropping experience.
Surrounded by the Tuscan hills, Park Palace is a historic Florentine villa offering 26 lovely rooms, a well-kept pool, manicured lawns and enough parking for your entire entourage. The place is so peaceful, you wouldn’t know that you’re a mere five-minute bus ride from central Florence (or a short 20-minute walk to Florence’s Cathedral, Uffizi Gallery, Boboli Gardens and Ponte Vecchio).
At breakfast, we enjoyed a rich buffet in the very elegant dining hall that includes an assortment of homemade products, from freshly baked croissants, to a variety of cheeses and fresh fruits. During summer, most meals are served on the terrace overlooking the grounds.
Total relaxation is guaranteed in the hotel’s reading lounge with its ornate fireplace, antique pieces of furniture and parade of Persian rugs. My family and I loved it so much that we ended up staying an extra day. I have stayed in numerous places in and around Florence and to be honest, none of the other places hold a candle to the Park Palace.
