Partyscope: August Events

Looking to dance?

Matte Productions borrows a Thai tradition with THE FULL MOON FESTIVAL (August 20-21, fullmoonfest.com) when Governors Island Beach Club will host artists including electro-pop singer Santigold and Ibiza club favorite Black Coffee. MoMA’s Long Island City location becomes a happening spot on WARM UP SATURDAYS (Saturdays through August 27, momaps1.org), when the museum’s spacious outdoor courtyard hosts diverse artists, while crowds mingle around large-scale art installations and enjoy cocktails. Admission to museum galleries is included until 6 PM, but the dance party rages well into the evening.
