Should Old Acquaintance Be Forgot? Not in Las Vegas, Baby

If you’re still casting about to decide where to ring in the New Year, well, I have two words for you: Las Vegas!

I have been to Vegas more than a couple dozen times and I have to say that as a an adult playground, Vegas never disappoints. There are one-of-a-kind shops there, a rollercoaster that takes you through a downsized version of New York City, and enough buffets to make you wish you could take one trip to eat, and another to just make merry.

Could you call Las Vegas a gay haven? Some say yes because of it’s over-the-top fabulousness, and others shake their heads no and talk about roving gangs of drunken straight folks who don’t care what they say or to whom they say it. It’s probably best so say that your time in Vegas will be what you make of it.

Many people consider Vegas to be one long series of rooms with nothing but cigarette smoke, slot machines and barstools as far as the eye can see. But the city can also be a cultural experience with an ample assortment of museums and some of the best shows (and venues) anywhere in the country. Why else would Elton, Bette and Cher want to spend months there at a time?.

Where you spend your time depends on how you like to spend your money. There are celebrity-owned restaurants, European-style circuses (like the legendary Cirque du Soleil), and of course endless celebrity tributes to performers like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra and of course the King of the Strip, Elvis Presley. Viva Las Vegas!
