Flipping the Script on Chekhov with Stupid F#@king Bird

April 21-22; 25-29

Even people who love theater enjoy hating it — sometimes. Just like NPR’s cerebral navel-gazing and an evening watching James Lipton pontificate over some performer he worships, there are people who have the same love/hate relationship with playwright Anton Chekhov. Hence, Stupid F#@king Bird.

In this irreverent remix of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull at UCLA’s Little Theater, an angry young actor and director take on the artistic powers that be and run headlong into disappointment as they salute a classic play while flipping it the bird. tft.ucla.edu/theaterseason
